Air Abrasion is the most high-tech, state-of-the-art system available today. For certain cavities, our air abrasion system allows us to remove the decay thus preparing cavities to be filled ... without
using the drill. Although it cannot be used for teeth needing extensive restoration, (inlays, crowns, etc.), the air abrasion system is rapidly becoming more versatile, and is remarkably well suited for small to medium size cavities.
Other advantages to this system are: The doctor treats the cavities since the beginning. Due to the highly accurate beam of air being used, less healthy tooth is removed. Restorations are made in the same color as the tooth, so they are more aesthetically pleasing. Thanks to the fact that no anesthesia is used, more restorations can be done in one visit and patients leave the office without a sagging lip.
